23 top timeshare resales reported

A recent timeshare resale data report has listed the top resorts in the timeshare resale market. Their research included over 1,400 resorts in an 18-month study, ranking them by resale volume and typical pricing.

The top 8 on the list are properties that the research firm scored a perfect 10 by their definition of what they consider the “saleability” of timeshare resorts. Making those highest ranking the 7 Disney Vacation Club resorts in Lake Buena Vista along with Hilton Grand Vacations Club’s Eagle’s Nest Resort in Marco Island, Florida. Other timeshare resorts scoring high and appearing in the top 10 were Marriott’s Grande Vista Resort in Orlando and Ko’Olina Beach Club in Oahu.

Filling in the balance of their top named 25 timeshare resale resorts are Disney in Anaheim, three Marriott Vacation Club resorts in Maui and Kauai, Hawaii, plus Newport Coast and Lake Tahoe, California. Hilton Grand Vacation Club adds another four to the list located in Orlando, Captiva Island, Marco Island, and Sanibel Island in Florida. Also, the Westin in Maui, Hawaii joins the ranks to complete their top 25 reported resale transactions.

There are many factors that can contribute to the resale sales success and desirability of any timeshare ownership in the secondary market. However, when a particular resort still has a high demand for consumers, outside of the normal developer sales presentation hype and incentives, it says a lot about the overall perceived value. Bob Schmidt, Sharket’s Chief Data Officer, explains why resale value is so important, stating how “robust resale demand clearly points to a solid timeshare program.”
